2012 Design Award

This outstanding building makes a major contribution to the appearance and character of the Musselburgh and Fisherrow seafront. Designed by Edinburgh architects Wiszniewski Thomson, its bold white exterior and stunning state of the art interior are both innovative and yet reminiscent of the finest 1930’s Modern Movement seaside architecture, such as the elegant De La Warr Pavilion at Bexhill-on-Sea. The building is highly appropriate to its setting right next door to the Fisherrow Yacht Club and near to Fisherrow Harbour. It has something of the ocean liner about it and makes the most of magnificent views across the Firth of Forth. It rightly deserved to be Commended in the quarterly magazine of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.
