Design Award

Inaugurated in 1992, the Musselburgh Conservation Society’s Design Award is given to new buildings and conservation projects considered to be of merit.

The purpose of the award is to encourage good design and sensitive renovation of Musselburgh’s buildings and surroundings.

Each year new projects are photographed and displayed at a Society meeting, usually in December. Members then vote for the one they like the best. A distinctive plaque is presented to the building owner, and these can be seen on buildings around the town.
