The proposed East Lothian Local Development plan has been published for consultation (September 2016).
Its sets out how the provisions of the Strategic Development Plan, which covers the whole of south-east Scotland, will be delivered locally.
The Strategic Development Plan requires 10,500 new dwellings to be built in East Lothian up to 2024, including over 5000 in Musselburgh.
Read our Local Plan Briefing Note to find out more about Musselburgh Conservation Society’s reaction to this plan.
As an alternative we have developed a A Vision for Musselburgh which sets out how the town could expand without compromising its special character and distinctive identity.
